Benjamin de la Fuente (1969- Bordeaux -France)

He graduated from the ʺ  Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris  ʺ where he studied with Gérard Grisey (composition) and Alain Savouret (improvisation). In parallel, he graduated from the university Paris VIII in 1999. He wrote a master of musicology (ʺListen to the musical sound today  ʺ).
He studied at the IRCAM (1998) and he is composer-in residence at the VILLA MEDICIS in Roma (2001). He’s co-created   (2000) the musical invention compagny SPHOTA  creating musical & theater performance. He’s also co-created (2003) the experimental pop band   CARAVAGGIO  .
He is both a composer, violonist improviser and performance maker . For many years he has written from chamber Music to larger instrumental ensembles, with or without Electronic. He also Worked for Theater and cinema.

He usualy try to propose an other way to create, to think, to present on stage the music. He think music as an physical and dramaturgic experience. He always collaborate with others art form to give a new way to listen.

He’s a regular guest at various festivals and worked with the orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Ictus, l'EIC, l'Itinéraire, Soudinitiative, l’Ircam, le Grame, l’INA-grm, les percussions de Strasbourg, l'Orchestre National de Jazz, le théâtre du Châtelet, le Festival d'Aix en Provence, Ars Musica, etc.

In 2010, was awarded the ʺ  Grand prix lycéen des compositeurs  ʺ and the ʺ  Grand prix du disque Charles Cros  ʺ for the album la Longue Marche (aeon label)
In 2009, was awarded the ʺ  André Caplet prize from the ʺ  Beaux-arts Academy  ʺ of the french Institute
In 2005 had a grant from the ʺ  Beaux-arts Academy  ʺ of the french Institute
In 2002, he was awarded the Hervé Dugardin sacem Prize.
