João-Carlos Pinto

Studied Piano and Composition at Braga Gulbenkian Conservatory and did his bachelor in Composition at Lisbon Superior Music School. Currently, he is doing his Masters in Multimedia Composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with Alexander Schubert.

His work as been presented in South Korea, USA, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Iceland, Spain and, regularly, all over Portugal.

Has received commissions from: UNESCO – Braga Media Arts / ZKM, Gaudeamus, RTP / Antena 2, Casa da Música, Centro Cultural de Belém, JOP, ensemble neoN, Arte no Tempo and Aveiro City Council.

As a performer he plays, mostly, electronic instruments built by himself.

Highlight for the projects CACO.MEAL, Omniae Large Ensemble, Peter Evans’ Som Crescente and xD.
