Potosino de Música, then studied composition with Jose Luis Castillo, Roberto Morales (electronic
music) and Ramón Montes de Oca. He has also worked with composers such as Emmanuel Nunes,
Julio Estrada, Johannes Maria Staud, Ignacio Baca Lobera, Rodrigo Sigal, Alla Zagaykevych and
Marcelo Toledo, participating in various workshops as International Workshop for Composers in
Latvia, el Encuentro de composición Injuve in Spain: Strengthening Program for Young Composers,
Flight Practice (acoustic mode in 2006 and electronic in 2010) and Instrumenta contemporanea in
Mexico. His music has been interpreted in various forums, including the International Festival
Cervantino, Instrumenta Contemporanea, Contemporary Art Festival Leon, Festival Callejón del
Ruido, Sound Art Festival and the Days of musical creation, for soloists and ensembles as
Mari Kimura, Hector Fernandez, Rebekha Alexander, Octavio Zapien, Camerata de las Americas
Orquesta de Baja California, Alea III, Quintus Anima, Instrumenta Ensemble, Camerata del
desierto, BCN 216, Zephirus ensamble, Duplum Duo, Ehecalli Ensemble, Duo Arai-Tradatti among
others, and by conductors as Jose Luis Castillo, Theodore Antoniou, Tom Butler and Rodrigo
Macias. His music has been performed in Mexico, Latvia and USA. Josué Zamora's work has
focused primarily on chamber music, in it we find from duos, trios, quartets, to ensembles of up to
12 or 14 players. In 2008 a honored mention was awarded to his piece "Difracción" for soprano
and ensemble in the Alea III International Composition Competition in Boston. In addition to
chamber music, important part of his catalog consists of numerous works for solo instruments,
including "Epicentro" and "Interludio" for oboe, commissioned by oboist Hector Fernandez
"Postlude" for piano, a work composed in memory of his friend, the composer Ramón Montes
de Oca. His works for solo instrument also include percussion, piccolo, marimba and
violin.
