'¿Wohin? - An Amazing Maze Thing' solo for optional wind instrument.
A labyrinth of phrases. Explore the paths; spend some time in the maze and wander lost among the phrases. There are a fix start and a fix ending, but between them are almost endless possibilities of combinations. The performance could last from ca 1 minute up to several minutes, depending on what choices the performer makes.
This work is commissioned for the Live Elevator Music Project in Berlin 2009. First performed in the elevators of Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz.
Its open form makes the piece possible to perform on both shorter and longer lift rides.
The Spanish question marks (¿ and ?) symbolizes an elevator's ride up or down. 'Wohin' is german for 'whereto' - something an elevator operator might have asked the passengers in the old days.
