I composed this cycle of etudes in just intonation for my close friend Brent McCall from Donaueschingen who passed away in 2019. His soft soul and music has always been an inspiration for me. With this viola cyclus I wanted to come close to him.
The piece is composed step by step 2021/2022 and was played by me until 2023, with additional sound inspirations which can always freely be invented and added by future players. My viola interpretation takes the etudes 9-14.
