My “String Trio with a Golden Rim” is a loose answer to Arno Schmidt and his libertine playfulness. Ultimately, my James Joyce experience plays a strong role, as it did for him. The music is like a fairy tale about the beautiful classical music and a culture on its decline. Schmidt's last work is called “Abend mit Goldrand”.
