Notes on this piece

This piece takes human vocal expression as its source of initial inspiration. In it, I have attempted to explore the musical treatment of the human voice from various angels – whether by rather straightforward transcription and orchestration of speech, or by the reconstruction of emotional states and their vocal and physiological characteristics.

These various episodes come together to form a type of ur-narrative – a story containg no text, but nonetheless somehow understandable by its string of emotions and connotations, and through the music of speech.
