Musically, the composition "Agapás mé?" is one big chant of the cello in front of a background of outwardly static but inwardly changing strings. The cello is used exclusively melodically - hence the "aria". In the melody one can trace the influences of Byzantine monody, especially of the Jan Damascene's hymn " Enlighten the New Jerusalem". The inspiration comes from the Gospel of John (21, 15–17).
