Notes on this piece
Metamorfoses da luz
In this work the main themes are the matamorphosis process and the brightness of the materials. The metamorphosis is used as associated process at different formal levels, a fact that is seen in both the nature of the materials and in the manner in which these are juxtaposed. Thus, the evolution of the musical discourse is based on sound objects that metamorphose to generate other of different nature. Contrasting categories, as saturation – not saturation, continuous sound – granulated, stability – instability, characterize the opposing phases of the process of brightness level change that in all cases resulting in states of high timbric saturation.
