Pneuma means more than 'to breath'. It represents the soul, the Holy Spirit.
Although a concept of christian origin, this score was not composed within the
confines of a single religion. The sound of breathing flows through the flute. A
soft whimper, gradually building up to a storm and all the faint echoes contained
within, all of this is given expression in this music. I wanted to imbue new life into
music that has been stagnated by mere technique, and breath vitality towards
creation of a new sound.
