¨Mi paso ha retrocedido¨ the tittle refers to a verse of Violeta Parra´s song ¨Volver a los 17¨ and to the writing process of the piece which was determined by an inverted conception of the sense of time. The work is conceived as going backwards , loooking for prior events or antecedents of the writen events more than continuations of them.
So, the compositional process was the search of the beginning. When I was near the end of the piece By hazard, I´ve found the poem ¨Four Quartets¨ in google, when my search was about wind quartets to play the work. T.S: Elliot wrote ¨What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make and end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from¨
The piece was composed in 2016 and premiered at Festival Latinoamericano de Música Caracas Venezuela.
