Seven lives: A sequence of seven harmonics derived from a single piano string presented in seven different settings – different, but not unrelated.
In other words, seven interconnected identities contained in seven times seven periodic entities.
I love to toy with numbers in music!
The piece could also be named „tema con variazioni“ or „ciaccona fluida“. Beyond it incidentally references the seven tones of varying successions and durations prevalent in Gregorian plainchant, which, to a certain extent, could be described as the DNA and thus the archetype of European music.
