Sometimes music can arise from immanence, from contact with matter itself. In "Acrylic" for 5 instrumentalists, the minimal action of releasing a solid body - acrylic bar - on an elastic surface - piano strings -, throws inverse consequences that, although foreseeable, are difficult to control. These secondary and inverse effects induce timbral, harmonic and rhythmic results that will be re-interpreted in the other intervening instruments. Beyond the study of the materiality of the elements - in this case acrylic and metal - and their dimensioning in the resulting acoustic causes, this composition is based on the will to extract consequences from factors that are settled on the frontier of what unpredictable and controllable.
