Notes on this piece The piece is for tárogató, and viola. The tárogató is an instrument similar to the clarinet but sound more similar to the soprano saxophone, very spread in Hungary. The piece explores the wide sound possibilities of both instruments. The tárogató has a rich palette of timbres and multiphonics while the viola can produce a lot of sound-color variances through the positions, velocity and pressure of the bow.
