Notes on this piece The composition Conversion was initiated by the Norbert String Quartet, whose members wished it to be related in some way to the person of St. Norbert. The conversion of St. Norbert is often compared to the conversion of St. Paul of Tarsus. In hagiographic literature it is described as the result of a lightning strike in Norbert's vicinity. When the saint regained consciousness, he turned his horse and from that moment on his life changed completely. I have taken the liberty of creating a parallel of sorts to this moment - a story of a man falling again and again, only to always pick himself up and try to transform his heart into the Christ-like form.
