In it there are strong contrasts between energetic and very calm fragments. The guitar uses technical resources of the flamenco guitar such as the "rasgueado" or the "punteo" and also others with classical tradition as harmonics or glissando, rarely found in Flamenco . In the melodies played by guitar or saxophone, appears extensive use of final tetrachord of spanish phrygian mode, which has here a very different treatment, basically atonal. The saxo alternates "bravura passages" with "calm passages " , and contains some extended techniques such as multiphonics , "breath only" or some harmonic.
Choosing the sopran sax instead of the flute in C (more frequent in the Flamenco) is due in part to his lower tessitura that allows me to connect better with the guitar but also for its color: darker, deeper,...,ultimately more "jondo".
