Maclas

The thickness of present time is ~600 ms. This lapse is the cumulative time delay of perceptual and cognitive mechanisms associated with listening. This piece is an architecture made of sonic particles of about half a second long. The structure is a sequence of X number of elements of a lexicon and projects a number N of potential connections, suggested (and denied) between instruments. Maclas proposes the listener to be the one who interprets the particles, merging them into sequences as their perceptual mechanisms focus or forgets different elements of the sound stream.
