Notes on this piece This version of the 5th string quartet has my violin solo CAPRA 4 as a basis.
It focuses on special families of integer number intervals. The 1st part deals with natural thirds 5/4, 6/5 and sixths 5/3 and 8/5, the 2nd part with thirds and natural 7/4 sevenths, the 3rd part with 7/4 sevenths and fourths 4/3, the 4th part with octaves and 8/7 seconds, all intervals in superpositions. The 5th and last part comments on the Harry Partchian (or Ben Johnstonian) Otonality and Utonality up to the number 13.
Since this version was never played, I only have an edited multiplication of Miranda Cuckson's solo "Capra 4" from Hamburg, October 2023.
