Archipiélago is my second work for string quartet. In this piece I continued the concept developed on my first string quartet but from an opposite perspective.
Fragmented sections do appear like independent material that breaks the piece’s linearity. The unity comes from the development of these fragments and the rhythmic, harmonic and timbre connections established between them. It is a piece of continuous fragmented changes.
