Notes on this piece CHAMADE (Invocation, Caprice, Nocturne)
Chamade (kammerübungen for ten players) is dedicated to Theodore Antoniou, who asked me for this new piece, and the Greek Composers’ Union. Considering the wonderful Musicians of the Ensemble, the piece proceeds alternating both chamber and soloist character. Suggestions of visions, of sounds, of memories… join the three parts of the piece. Invocation (a tribute to the Nature through the Sea); Nocturne (… splinters of memories and dreams); in the middle the Capriccio (my homage to the ten players and their conductor Antoniou).
