Notes on this piece Aura was composed in 2007 and presents a minimalist and distorted way in the choice of musical materials. As a consequence, the orchestra is transformed into a meta instrument, where the traditional function of each instrument is modified according to new perspectives of a whole. For example, woods are exploited to work out natural tuning harmonies, while strings present a textural profile. To achieve such an atmosphere, temporality was treated in a special way. Everything happens in a non-theological way, that is, in a temporality where the instant, the moment is already the main goal. My thanks to Gordon Mumma for his help during the compositional process of this work.
