Spectra

Spectra was commissioned by the Swedish KMH Symfoniorkester in 2006. The work was performed on September 29th the same year, in Stockholm’s concert hall. Three topics were carefully incorporated during the composition process. Topic I A architectural drawing representing a concert hall, drawn by the composer in 2006 in order to be incorporated into the composition. The transference procedure, drawing/notation, was realized with means of a computer program. Topic II The concert hall’s roof structure made of colored crystal in different sizes and shapes. This topic is mainly related to the way the wind section was composed. Topic III The chess moves of a chess match, arranged on February 10th 1996, between Garry Kasparov and the chess computer Deep Blue.
