Qazaliat

The term means a “collection of Qazals” in Persian literature qazal or ghazal is one of the most popular and most ancient forms of classical poetry. A ghazal is unique in its expressive context of pain and yet beauty of love.
In this piece I used different lines from poems of four of the greatest Persian poets of different era, Rumi, Hafez, Nima Youshij and Ahmad Shamlou.
The musicians are asked to contemplate on the lines, both in figure and essence, and apply it to the indicated musical lines. The lines are used on different orders and combinations, in order to create nets of various pulsation. Yet more importantly the meditative demands of this piece, invites the musicians and listeners to delve further into the realm of sound and contemplation.
