Videos on this piece
Notes on this piece Caminos del Espejo is a polymorphic text setting of a poem by Argentine poet Alejandra Pizarnik. The syllables, verses and words are placed in noise, murmurs, melodies, percussive gestures, glissandoes by the soprano while the electronics create layers of resonances, echoes, granularities, like multiple mirror images that transform, deform or conform her delivery. The ensemble creates relationships with the voice and the electronics in agitated textures sometimes very gestural others rhythmic or granular.
The main poetic idea was to convey the energy and the image of the protagonist of the poem, the poet herself: she mirrors her own self looking into her own existential void using and extremely elaborate syntax of recurrent word images that multiply the recourse in many different ways.
The music is the poem but in its own sonic terms.
