Carlos de Castellarnau

nonlinearity in music through maximum contrast and heterogeneity. His conception
of the music is derived from a plastic vision of sound.
Born in Catalonia (Spain) in 1977 is introduced in music as a performer somewhat
late, in 2000 he started studying classical guitar and music theory. In 2010
he subsequently continued studying composition in Barcelona (ESMUC) and
he pursued his studies of composition in CNSMDP of Paris, in 2013 he was accepted
in the IRCAM Cursus I . He studied composition with teachers Ramon
Humet, Agustí Charles, Stefano Gervasoni and he has attended a series of
courses, seminars and master-classes of several recognized composers.
Castellarnau's music have been recognized and awarded in several competitions
as 2011 ALEA III Composition Composition of Boston, 2012 first Prize in
the Joan Guinjoan Composition Competition, 2012 finalist at the 4th Synthermia
Composition Competition, 2nd prize in the “Premio di Trieste 2012”,
INA/GRM Banc d'Essais 2013.
