Erich Barganier
Play all audio recordingsErich Barganier (n. 1991) es un compositor y multiinstrumentista originario de St. Petersburg, Florida, que actualmente reside entre la ciudad de Nueva York y Montreal. Escribe música de cámara, orquestal, cinematográfica, instrumental solista y electrónica que explora tecnología experimental, técnicas extendidas, improvisación, procesos generativos, percepción del ruido y nuevas formas de notación. Su música ha sido lanzada en People Places Records, Belts and Whistles Records, Nebularosa Records y Janus Music and Sound y ha sido reconocida por ASCAP y The American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Las obras de Erich se han presentado en Diffrazioni Festival, The International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), Mostly Modern Festival, The New Music Gathering, Spectra Malaysia, National Sawdust, Le Poisson Rouge, La Vitrola, New Music New College, New York University, Spectrum Nueva York, la Universidad de Wisconsin, la Universidad de Georgia, la Universidad del Norte de Georgia, el Festival Internacional de Piano de Juguete de Florida y la Universidad de Alabama, entre otros.
Ha escrito para Mivos Quartet, NOW Ensemble, Sybarite5, Quince, Bearthoven, Ashley Bathgate, Sandbox Percussion Ensemble, Esther Lamneck y Righteous Girls, entre otros. Se ha desempeñado como artista residente en CIRMMT (McGill Univserity, QC) y Westben Artist Retreat (Westben, ON).
Erich comenzó a estudiar composición y teoría con Mark Dancigers mientras asistía al New College of Florida (B.A., 2014). Realizó más estudios en la Universidad de Nueva York, estudiando de forma privada con Julia Wolfe, Robert Honstein, Joan La Barbara y Tae Hong Park (M.M.2019).
Recibió una beca Fulbright en 2014 y enseñó inglés en la Universidad Estatal de Cultura y Artes de Bielorrusia en Minsk, mientras recopilaba canciones populares regionales e interpretaba música tradicional estadounidense en Europa del Este.
Como compositor de cine, Erich compuso Lost in Buffalo City, una película de terror dirigida por Raymond "Skip" Wallace que ha ganado el premio a la mejor película en varios festivales, incluido el Jerome Indie Film & Music Festival (Jerome, Arizona), y el Festival de Cine de Asheville (Asheville, Carolina del Norte).
