Play all audio recordingsA native of Israel, Hadas Pe’ery (b. 1986) began her composition studies with Robert Cuckson at the Mannes College of Music in New York. Upon receiving Bachelors of Music degrees with honors in both composition and theory in 2007, she moved to Paris where she pursued further composition studies with Jean-Luc Hervé, Philippe Leroux and Thierry Blondeau. Additionally, Hadas Pe’ery studied electroacoustic composition with Christine Groult, Philippe Leroux and Gilles Racot, obtaining a Diplôme d’Études Musicales in 2010. She is currently completing her Masters in computer aided composition at University Paris 8, where she is researching real-time electronic treatment of the voice. Furthermore, she has participated in masterclasses throughout Europe with Beat Furrer, Jonathan Harvey, Ivan Fedele, Rebecca Saunders, etc.
Ms. Pe’ery’s is the recipient of various scholarships, including the Fondation International Nadia and Lili Boulanger Scholarship (France), the Theodor Presser Foundation Scholarship (New York) and the Gary Schultz Foundation Scholarship (USA). She was three times selected as an ASCAP Young Composer Award finalist, and received the Felix Salzer Award for her work as a theorist. In 2006-7, Ms. Pe’ery was the composer in residence of the Chelsea Symphony (New York). Her works are commissioned and performed in Europe, Israel and America by ensembles such as Court-Circuit, TM+, Cairn, Meitar, Lunatics at Large, the Chelsea Symphony and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra among others.
