Igor Ballereau

Igor Ballereau was born in Cherbourg (France) in 1969. In 1992, his meeting with Pascal Dusapin leads him to become a composer. In 1996, the Ensemble l’Itinéraire gives the first performance of one of his works, Deux nus froissés, at the Centre Pompidou (Paris). Over the following years, he works with various ensembles (Accroche Note, 2e2m, S:I.C., Trio Allers-Retours, Les Cris de Paris, Ictus, Aleph, Nomos...) and receives support from Georges Aperghis and Gérard Pesson. He is a fellow of the French Academy in Rome, Villa Medici, in 2003-2004. In 2007, he moves to New York, where he creates the SHSK’H Netlabel with the American soprano Jody Pou, so to promote their work and that of other composers and performers through the Internet.
