Descripción In this musical piece I wanted to approach the idea of landscape, but avoid any hint of description, programmatic brand. To work -from the sonorous, from the musical –a space that becomes abstract when passing from the contemplation of the real to a transcended, poetic vision. Zóbel, "painter of Cuenca landscapes", never painted Cuenca- or in reality, yes. From its brushstroke comes a landscape that, without being, without breaking the abstract concept that aesthetically leads the artist, seems to speak of a reality, an observed place. From the form without reference is born an insinuation. Almost as a metaphor of his painting technique, glazes seem to let the spectrum of reality come out. From this look, from this apparent contradiction, my musical work is nourished.
And of another also, with great force, of the poetic gaze of Pilar Martín Gila, who shows us a broken vision in which things seem to come together, and when they begin to draw their contours, they disappear... or are transformed. A kind of inversion of the process.
The work was a commission for the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Cuenca City Heritage of Humanity, and was debuted at the auditorium of Cuenca on March 18, 2017 by saxophonists Miriam Castellanos and Pilar Montejano.
TEXT
