Violin and double bass, premiered by Pollicino Ensemble: Helge Slaatto, Frank Reinecke, Odense 1995

In the 90s I wrote a series of "Street Musics": These were small pieces without any claim to "art music", but built with the same demand for precision of the momentary and the flowing. It turns out that this “now-ness” is extremely difficult to find.

The background or foreground of my second Street Music is a portrait of the artist and art promoter from Hamburg, Hadmut Oelke, who died in 1994. Anyone who knew her will perhaps sense her special tenderness of soul in this piece.
