Since this piece is written for the ensemble modern percussionist Rumi Ogawa, the percussion stands in the center.
The movements are:
I - canonic fugue
II - 16 pulses
III - Gran Caisse Shockwave
The percussion arrangement is framed by three frame drums, one of which is held in the hands and the other two are operated with foot pedals. In between, there is a shift to various other skin instruments: Bongos, rototoms, timpani. A bass drum with metallic aditions comes up in the last movement.
The music moves in a strangely ambivalent sound space. Skin sounds and string sounds mix or don't mix, match in pitch or diverge from each other in sixth tones. An alien reality dreamed from a "distant land" emerges: We travel to a Siberian Indonesia. Everything fits together "anew". "We have to make everything new", said Giordano Bruno - and was burned.
