The score is written for a flexible instrumentation (4 to 10 instruments - 6 in this version) using Michelsonne toy pianos (2 octaves models). The piece was composed for ensemble Staccatoy Paris.
The characteristics of the Michelsonne instruments and of their modes of playing are key elements in the piece. The opening and closing of the keyboard "drawer" creates spectacular glissandi-like effects. The percussive use of the toy pianos (including parts such as wood and keys) generate various resonances and vibrations made or enhanced by the bells. Guero-effects (slides on non-pressed keys) are recurrent in the piece. But here, they are hardly controllable due to instrument's nature and result in random sounds made by "accidentally" depressed key(s). This creates a constant semi-improvised 'resonant' background which changes according to tempo, dynamics and sound energy.
