D'après dans la nuit

"D'après Dans la nuit (ou Dans la nuit d'après ?") is a rewriting of a work for orchestra called Dans la nuit, after a poem by Henri Michaux. This quintet was for me an opportunity to question the material of the primary piece and to work it out in this smaller ensemble. It led me search for new sonorities and formal design to find an appropriate writing for the different sections of the poem.  Antonin Servière, 2009
