Enigma Patterns is a tribute to all the brilliant, Intelligent women in Bletchley, who saved us during the war. In honor and recognition to all these women; as an artist, I will continue creating art in a troubled time ... some word on who I came across the idea of the piece:
When the British cracked the German code, they eventually could anticipate on the code changes. The structure of the 'computer' and code stayed the same, but every day the Germans changed one box. The telex-machines that cracked the code were all operated by the genius women in Bletchley.
They used a telex machine to put the changes in the boxes and then the right code came out. But before that, the women ( human decision and mine ) cracked codes and patterns.
So, the human component decided the ‘game’.
That is the machine the Germans used, and with imitating the structure of the enigma into their own telex machines, they were able to predict every move of the Germans.
But the interesting part is that those women saw patterns and structures needed for the computer to be able to work and function. (The boxes was changing every day, so, the code changed also everyday).
Enigma Patterns is structured as a game!
This game consist of 3 different type of pack of “ cards”.
1) Section Cards:——-> 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106
2) Surprise. Boxes ( S. Boxes): ——> 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. 3) Significant Surprise Boxes. ( S.S.Boxes) : 1, 5, 6, 8, 10.
