The social shock produced by a catastrophe –like the one we are currently experiencing worldwide– is an opportunity for social reflection, change, replacement of values in favour of greater collective consciousness. But also, according to the Canadian writer Naomi Klein, it's a propitious moment for the elites to establish new systems of rules for their own benefit, without raising the response of a stunned citizenry. Shock?
The work, as a miniature form, is specially composed and dedicated to Kompass Ensemble, Swaantje Kaiser (violin), Elena Ralli (piano), Timotheé de la Morinerie and Henry Heizmann (percussion), who premiered the work on March 29, 2021 as part of their project "INSEKTEN - neue Mikroludien" at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg (Germany).
