Partials tones as a composition path. No tempered sounds are played by the flute, previously tuned in a quarter-tone below. The aim is to manage a tempered system out of the actual tempered system. So, there is a kind of struggle between two forces, where the instrument emplacement is very important because their natural features. The piano disappears in resonances where a wind multiphonics options grows, plus to alternative fingerings, embouchure manipulation or progressive hole closed. It might be a symbolic pattern hidden in this performance, in the sounding landscape of “Diglosia”, where two-tone systems are fighting although both belong to the same acoustic source.
“Diglosia” was one of the three winner compositions of the Fifth Composition Prize “Counterpoint-Italy”, 2014.
