Descripción
Dedicated to Movses Pogossian and Rohan de Saram
----------

Apart from the myth surrounding Hyacinthus’ name, one can meticulously notice a deeper and essential detail: as the young man was accidentally killed by Apollo, a beautiful flower was created out of his dead body; out of Hyacinthus’ death, life was recreated in a different form. According to the myth, the god of light re-assembled the boy’s essence anew to create a flower, a process, which is known to esoteric practices as ‘the shaman’s death’ or more popularly as the principle of ‘death and resurrection’.

The constituting elements of the piece are handled as if within a private, subconscious space, where they emerge, unfold, and cease to exist unexpectedly and sometimes abruptly. In a way, they function just like memories, which likewise seem to appear randomly and act out of their own. It is exactly this effort, of recollecting randomly occurring and recurring memories, which the formal parameter of the piece is consisted of; and through this effort, a reassembling of their essence is attempted anew: a constant struggle between identities, reminiscences of my present and my past…

The title is also inspired by the composer Giacinto (Hyacinthus) Scelsi (1905-1988) whose thoughts and music influenced the generations of composers to come.
