Monophonie

Monophony is defined as a texture where there is only a single line. In my composition, sound is treated as a single corpus, and each voice bears different perspectives of that corpus ; the special nature of the three instruments makes this phenomenon even more intense. Those perspectives are determined by various manipulations of Time (as the main dimension of sound). The vein, dramaturgy and phonemes as well are derived from N. Engonopoulos’ poem “?? ?????? ??? ??????” (“The torments of love”).It was premiered during Acanthes 2011 by D. Michel-Dansac, G.Francesconi and P.-S. Meugé.
