notes on extinction

"notes on extinction"...an extinct animal, a species that for the very last time in our lifetime sets a paw on the ground, wraps a claw around a branch, flaps its wings, or wiggles a fin in water. Music about animals is usually not really my thing, but it shows that the big things are always reflected in the small things and that, for instance, if you think about animals you almost inevitably end up with a burning problem of our time. And I think music can also be written about that, or better: I can also write music about that. But then; the piece is not really music about animals, or only peripherally: it's music about the process of extinction, some loose thoughts about that, and animals, well, animals are sadly often affected by that.
