A short work, focusing on a set of derived fingerings of bassoon multiphonics. Part of the eyes|open series (2020-22) focusing on wind and percussion combinations in relation to biological and physiological concepts of vision and eye construction; interrogating in a generalisation of attitudes.

ocularia seeks to envisage a world of possibilities through a small window/lens of the world, which in turn is widened by escaping from the lens - represented through a tablature of vented fingerings - which drive a sultry and explosive raft of dense and untamed sounds. The demand is not always in the technique but in the differentiation of various materials which linger throughout; and broadening the scope of 'inner' colours.
