The concept in the work is based on a visual imitation of mosaic-style techniques, and is a musical reflection of the ancient mosaic art of mosaics, whose origins date back to the Sumerian city of Mesopotamia, dating back to the second half of the fourth millennium BC.
The piece was commissioned by Heydar Aliyev Foundation for performance by Azerbaijani State Symphony Orchestra on 1 October 2019, as part of the Nasimi Festival 2019.
