Sax of one

Saxophone is used to be considered as a melodic or monophonic instrument. But in this piece saxophone is more like a polyphonic instrument (not only in the pitch aspect but also in the timbre aspect). It becomes possible because of the placing different unusual types of playing in a special context in which there is a contradiction of all these elements. It leads to a special coloring of the piece, dense musical texture and distinctive way of elaborating material.
