Initially, I took three cycles or "Talas" from India as a starting point for the rhythmic construction of the work.
Cycle 1 contains 16 pulses (beat) arranged asymmetrically: 5 + 3 + 4 + 4 = 16. Cycle 2 contains 10 pulses: 2 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 10 and cycle 3 a combination of the elements of cycles 1 and 2: 5 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 14.
From this, it is sought to create a kind of ritual where the percussionist starts to dialogue gradually with these three metric entities, getting involved in a game of construction and deconstruction of the cycles.
