The Me Too movement, started by the social activist Tarana Burke in 2006, was virally spread as a hashtag on social media by several hollywood celebrities, following the Harvey Wenstein scandal.
The movement attempts to demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace, and give people a sense of the magnitude of this problem.
Regardless the criticism raised against the movement it is impossible to deny that the reach of #MeToo has unveiled a problem which is present in all society segments and that equally affects politics, arts, sports or education. Many protests and riots have followed all around the globe and the internet and social networks have given voice to a situation, that has been tolerated and normalised for too long.
#YouToo? Is a follow up question, to make us think about what this means to ech one of us, in our everyday life, in the roles of women, men, privileged, victims, fighters, partners.
