Thibet is Victor Segalen's last and unfinished work. In front of this poem of the paroxysm, of the spiritual and physical heroism, of this ecstasy of the inaccessible, of this quest of absolute, my work could only be a failure. It is a priori a failure by sheltering itself behind a fragmentary form, recognizing the necessary incompletion and the vanity of this work.Victor Segalen, in spite of two attempts, never came into Thibet. His ode evokes a real country as much as a fantasized, imaginary, inaccessible one; my piece refers to this ode, to this Thibet.
