Dedicated to Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgartfirst performance: December 12 2012, Theaterhaus Stuttgart Entwurzelt searches for meaningful expressions in a language we don’t know and reflects my interest in drama. The tight relationship between the live passages and the electronics creates a sound world, drawing us curiously into the discovery of its sense. The composition is not based on an existing text, rather an invented dialogue with hints to different idioms. The electronics are used to extend the vocal expressions of the live singers, to build harmony and complex sound textures, but they also serve at times as an element of surprise.
