It is based upon the opening chapter “Schlaf” of Gustav Meyrink’s 1915 novel “Der Golem”.
The score is edited in two versions: in C and transposed.
In the vocal part, the consonants increasingly drop out and the singing is progressively transformed into overtone singing.
