Trascolora is not a piece that "experiences" new sounds-noises or "effects". It is a piece that retrieves and interprets, with the enrichment of my most recent experiences on harmonic fields and chaotic states, one of my oldest poetical core (from "... imagine vocis ..." of 1988). A sensual and timbrical taste for the transformation of the sound, in particular the transition from rustling or blowing to plain sound and vice versa and all the harmonic transformations that occur in a changing space open to microtones and to the indeterminate sounds of percussions, piano strings and winds multifonics. These noises and altered sounds, which I get from the instruments in various ways, are to me sounds of the Nature: the wind that blows hard through the trees, leaves dragged away, waves and sea undertow heard from afar. Unconsciously I have reworked a haiku by Ikenishi Gonsui that has long been accompanying my inspiration:
there is a goal
for the winter wind
the sound of the sea.
I have always sought to express these tensions with music. In this piece my research on harmonic fields and chaotic states merges with a continuous transformation of the sound and its transition from rustling or blowing to plain sound, from noise to quasi-melodic stream and vice versa.
Trascolora, this title means a color that is changing. This can happen through a gradual transition or an abrupt change. Life flows, transforms, overwhelms our lives and we sometimes anticipate-desire the change, while others we chase or undergo it. It is always a matter of our relation with Time - or at least mine - never centered, never on time, always a little blurry.
