A viagem e o rio

The piece uses excerpts of Vivaldi concerto RV97 and formal/structural ideas of the novel Avalovara (1973), by Osman Lins. This structure is based on the old magic square SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS, and coordinates the appearance of very different musical elements as wind noise, Vivaldi fragments, high notes and harmonics, etc.a viagem e o rio (2011) was composed for the 4th European Competition for Live-Electronic Projects (promoted by the ECPNM).The piece was premiered/recorded by the Symphonieorchester der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg conducted by René Gulikers, in 19th November 2011 and received the 1st Prize in the ECPNM competition.
