Notes sur cette pièce “ it [the piece, Pharos] consists of islands of materials. Islands that drift away or come flooding in to the gathering violin [...] encompassing are these bursts of energy - often times in the percussionist - that push the piece forward. The sound always return to the voice in some way or another. For me, this is in many ways reminiscent of the composition process: of how I always begin with the voice and then extend it and transform to each instrument. Building sounds, building gestures.”
